Why would a High School eliminate Clical Literature?

This past school year my school board has decided to get rid of everything clical by any means from our school system. This past year was dreadful for me as I read several books that were well below my reading level. I hated sopre english, and have resorted to taking SUMMER Junior english just so that I can avoid having to endure another year of our horrible curriculum. Shakespeare, Cesar, Hamlet, Huck Finn, Scarlet Letter....It's ALL GONE. I want to rebel. I want to let the school know (me and dozens of others) how ridiculous this is. How would you handle this situation?
