If a minor enters into a contract for food, can he avoid it?

I'm trying to study for my Blaw midterm. Theres a scenario....a minor racks up a $1,000 bill from buying groceries from a local store on store credit. Since its for a necessary, can he avoid this contract and not have to pay anything because the groceries were already likely used? Or are these types of contracts unavoidable even by minors?
